Ms. Saputo is currently the Chief Executive and Investment Officer with Placements Italcan Inc., a privately-owned investment holding company. After obtaining 2 graduate degrees from McGill University, Ms. Saputo developed her expertise in accounting, taxation, financial and estate planning with Deloitte. She also brings extensive corporate governance experience, including as a past Director and Audit Committee member of Saputo Inc., as well as in her roles as Governor of Concordia University, as Chair of the Pension Plan for the Employees of Concordia University and the Vice-chair of the Concordia University Foundation.
Ms. Saputo had begun a new path in the “Family Office” space that further developed into the areas of not only investments, but family governance and managing different forms of family capital (human, intellectual, and social capitals). This has led her to become a co-founder and Executive Chairperson of Crysalia Inc., a Chief Learning & Development Office for enterprising families.
She is very generous with her time as she serves in key leadership roles on a variety of boards and advisory committees. She is also a regular speaker at a number of International Forums. She has been invited to speak on numerous occasions in the areas of family governance and family wealth, women and wealth, education, philanthropy and financial literacy. She believes that education is an incomplete process which is why she considers herself a “life-learner”.
Ms. Saputo has been the recipient of numerous awards and recognitions including the King Charles III Coronation Medal, the “Dean’s Philos Award” from the University of Ottawa’s Telfer School of Management, a Certificate of Appreciation from the Concordia University Governing Board and the Chai Lifetime Achievement Award from the Ben Weider Educational Center-Chabad Seminary of Canada. Ms. Saputo has earned numerous professional and governance accreditations including the Chartered Accountancy designation and Fellowship (FCPA-FCA), Institute of Corporate Directors designation (ICD.D), and Trust and Estate Practitioner designation (TEP).
